In 2021 infrastructure debt accounted for 1,173 transactions in Europe
Infrastructure debt is a particularly resilient asset class that is less impacted by market fluctuations and continues to generate stable performance.
- In 2021, infrastructure debt accounted for 1,173 transactions in Europe totalling EUR 350 billion.[1]
- The sectors that dominate the European infrastructure debt market are energy (23%), telecoms (23%), renewables energies (21%) and transport (16%).[1]
- In Europe, reaching the 2050 net zero target will require infrastructure spending of up to EUR 14 trillion..[2]
