BNP Paribas Asset Management appoints Sophie Lugiez Head of Global Trading
BNP Paribas Asset Management (‘BNPP AM’) announces the appointment of Sophie Lugiez as Head of Global Trading. Based in Paris, Sophie reports to Rob Gambi, Chief Investment Officer. She additionally joins BNPP AM’s Investment Leadership team and Business Committee.
Sophie took up her new role on 12 May and will be responsible for all aspects of BNPP AM’s global trading, including dealing, foreign exchange hedging, cash management and managing sell-side relationships.
Sophie joined the BNP Paribas Group in 1995 and has held a number of roles within Legal, BNP Paribas Wealth Management and BNP Paribas Securities Services (‘BP2S’), in France and Italy. She joined BNP Paribas Dealing Services in 2014 as COO and deputy CEO, and has been actively involved in the creation of the global trading function, leading strategic projects including recently Brexit market readiness and trading automation. Sophie also has extensive experience of risk control and management of regulated entities.
She graduated from HEC (Hautes Etudes Commerciales) and is also qualified as a lawyer.
