Richard Barwell
Richard Barwell is Head of Macro Research for BNPP AM.
He joined BNPP AM in 2015, having previously been a Senior European Economist within the Markets & International Banking division of Royal Bank of Scotland, focusing on the Eurozone and European Central Bank policy. His previous roles include Senior UK Economist at Royal Bank of Scotland and Senior Economist at the Bank of England, where his work covered UK forecasting, inflation reporting and labour markets within the Monetary Analysis team and risk assessment within the Financial Stability team. Richard has a BSc in Economics and Econometrics from the University of Nottingham, and an MSc in Mathematical Economics and Econometrics and a PhD in Labour Economics, both from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
His publications include Macroprudential Policy: Taming the wild gyrations of credit flows, debt stocks and asset prices (Palgrave Macmillan, 2013).
